Ance and problem skin

I decided to write a blog post on acne and problem skin in general. I know alot of young women my age and teenagers can suffer from it badly. Breakouts no matter how small or big they are, are still very hard to ignore as they can usually be sore, inflamed and red. We simply cannot avoid them as they are usually found on the facial area and looking at our faces atleast twice a day, this can have a major effect on confidence and self esteem.

*Foods that can combat acne*
-Avacado
-Nuts
-Fish
-Garlic
-Green veg

*Supplements & Vitamins*
I also believe in taking supplements to improve the condition of skin such as Omega 3 fish oils,
Vitamin C and Evening primrose oil. I swear by these, they are inexpensive and can be bought
from budget friendly outlets such as Aldi and Lidl. However you have to be consistant in taking them
and give it atleast 4 weeks to see any results, after all Rome wasn't built overnight!

*Tea tree oil & Aloe Vera*
These are probably my two go to products when I get a bad breakout.
Tea tree oil was originally used as a topical antiseptic by the Aboriginal people of Australia
and still is till this day. A study found that tea tree oil worked as well as 5% benzoyl peroxide
in controlling the symptoms of acne. It should never be swallowed and only used in tiny amounts
topically, usually I apply it with a cotton bud. However it is not reccomended that pregnant woman
take it because of it's toxicity.
Aloe Vera is a cactus plant known world wide for its healing properties. The leaves secrete a clear gel that when broken off from the rest of the plant that can be applied topically to heal wounds and soothe skin.
Various studies have been conducted to examine the benefits of the aloe vera plant and it was found out that aloe vera does in fact have several properties that are effective in treating a variety of skin conditions, from flaky or dry skin, hair and scalp problems to many more. I actually have a plant growing in a pot in my house
and it is an absolute LIFESAVER!

D.I.Y Avacado face mask

One of the main causes of acne is the blocking of pores. The avacado mask will not only clean the skin but also provide nutrients such as vitamin A, E, remove dead cells and rejuvenate the skin. This is a natural technique also used to exfoliate and revitalize dry skin. I would recommend whipping up this easy mask
2-3 times per week.

What you need:
-1/2 avacado
-3 tablespoons of honey
-A bowl

Instructions:
-Peel avacado, remove seed and chop up into pieces
-Mash up avacado in bowl
-Heat honey in microwave/stove
-Add warm honey to mashed avacado and mix together
-Apply all over face
-Leave on for 15 minutes
-Rinse with warm water
-Repeat this 2-3 times a week
-Enjoy your soft silky skin

Here are some notoriously beautiful celebrities that suffer from acne

A list celebs such as Victoria Beckham, Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz and Alicia Keys suffer from severe breakouts and acne girls so we are all human! Here are some snaps to put your mind at ease for anyone who is having a bad skin day.

Grow those brows and lashes longer...on a budget

''Grow baby grow''

These days long eyelashes and thick brows are all the rage. We see celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry sporting gorgeous flirty lashes and the adored H.D brow.
In order to achieve that look we usually apply false lashes or opt for lash extentions which sometimes can lead to growth damage. People have recommended certain lash and brow serums that speed up growth, all well and good but they cost an absolute fortune, its a joke like!
Aint nobody got the time OR the money to be forking out that kind of dough for a 30ml bottle that might last you a few weeks.
Why pay that, when you can make your own?

What you need:
-Caster oil
-Coconut oil
-Cotton buds
Take a little bowl drop 1 teaspoon of caster oil & 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in and mix together and your good to go. Apply onto clean lashes and brows with a cotton bud, leave over night and rinse off in the morning. You should begin to see a big difference within 3-4 weeks. Be patient, it does work!

*Caster oil has many benefits including growth of hair, clearing acne, fading scars or stretch marks and getting rid of fungal infections. Caster oil is also a wonderful moisturiser, the high concentrated fatty acids help penetrate the skin easily. So if your looking for an inexpensive rich moisturiser without breaking the bank heres the one to reach for!

*Coconut oil is probably one of the healthiest foods on the planet and is actually classed as a super food.
Besides it benefits on hair growth and maintaining healthy locks, it can be applied topically, used as a moisturiser. Here's the strange fact, it can actually be used as a mouthwash and sunscreen too.

Ladies, get whipping up your inexpensive growth serum. Give it at least 3-4 weeks and apply it religiously every night before bed. Its a fantastic way to save money but get those Kim K lashes at the same time.

Holy grail holiday must haves

So as you all know, Summer is practically here and I am so excited for the sun, sea, coctails and 99s.
''Summer time and the living is easy...'' but that sun and heat plays absolute havoc with our makeup!
Here are five of my holy grail products that I would not go without during these gorgeous months of  summer sunshine.

1. La Roche Posay Sunscreen (Factor 50).
I recently purchased this as I am going to Turkey with a friend in June. I am very pale naturally, I would be  prone to burning rather than tanning unfortunetly for me, however I was reccomended this product as it is such a high factor and has recieved such great feedback.

2. L'Oreal 'Revitalift Miracle Blur' Primer. This fab primer is silicone based which means it fights off heat and humidity and keeps your foundation on longer throughout the day. Revitalift Miracle Blur also contains an SPF 30 so it protects the skin on your face which sometimes we can forget about. Some women think
''Oh I am wearing foundation I wont get burned'' DO NOT be fooled ladies. An SPF 15,20 or 30 in a primer and your foundation is SO important cannot stress it enough.

3. Urban Decay 'All Nighter'' setting makeup spray is an absolute fantastic genious invention!
You spray it onto your finished face of makeup, gives it that dewy glow without looking greasy AND sets it so it stays put for over 16 hours without melting, cracking or creasing! Seriously could not promote this spray enough, it is a lifesaver especially for nights out on holidays. A must have ladies!
4. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Intense Elixir 3 Week Tan
I bought this tan to fake it over on holidays as there isn't a chance I will tan within a week. This tan gives your skin the perfect natural glow. Suitable for every skin type, this self tanning Elixir provides your skin with a natural glowing tan without leaving a smell or stickiness to your skin.
Its highly concentrated formula dries quickly offering an intense, luxurious, yet natural looking streak-free tan with even fade. It can be used on both body and face. Developing and lasting 2-3 weeks is so handy for holiday go-er's like myself who don't tan that easily. Nobody wants to look like a milk bottle on the beach!

5. Benefit's 'High Beam' has got to be my all time fave highlighter. I am aware it is quite pricey but in my opinion it is SO worth the investment as you use it sparingly as it is highly concentrated and gives an absolute gorgeous finish to your makeup. It can be mixed into your foundation or simply patted on to the cheekbones and brow bone area. It gives a lush healthy glow to your skin. I have been stopped a few times out and about and asked what I use on my skin and girls this is my secret. Big thumbs up, if you haven't got this in your life...go get it!
